Abstract:

The effects of cationic surfactants tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) and decasix alkyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) on photocatalytic degradation of brilliant red 6B(R6B) by TiO2 were studied, the adsorption model between the two and TiO2 is given. The results show that under the same conditions, the addition of cationic surfactant can increase the degradation rate of R6B, but the surfactant itself does not degrade. Under the conditions of strong acid (pH = 3.00) and strong alkali (pH = 12.60), the degradation rate of R6B was faster. At the same pH value, the change of TBAB concentration has little effect on the degradation rate of R6B, while the change of CTAB concentration has obvious effect on the degradation rate of R6B, when the concentration of CTAB was 0.4g/L, the degradation rate of R6B was the fastest.
